挑戰呈現三州瓦前所未有的全新樣貌。 This is a collaboration project combining Sansyu kawara artisans’ techniques—in practice since the Edo period—with contemporary creations.
It represents a fusion of “Made in Japan” skills and new sensibilities.
It’s about the challenge of creating new forms of expression in Sansyu kawara that have never existed before by collaborating with artists and designers working in a variety of different fields.

Kawara Collaboration第一位迎來的合作夥伴，是客製彩繪畫家倉科昌高。
我們請他以倉科世界觀彩繪「瓦貓」。據說他特別注重發揮陶器特有的質地及質感，並盡量保留陶器的氣氛與溫度。為了強調瓦貓圓潤的造型，並營造立體感，由上至下逐漸加深色調。敬請欣賞由曾與許多音樂家及現代藝術家聯手創作的藝術家所彩繪的「瓦貓」。
The first artist joining the Kawara Collaboration was custom painter Masataka Kurashina.
He painted the Kawara Neko according to his world view. His concept was to make the best use of the ceramics’ unique texture and feel while maintaining its atmosphere and warmth. It’s painted in a way that seems to emphasize its roundness and bring out the sense of three-dimensionality, with the color gradually deepening towards the bottom. Enjoy owning a Kawara Neko customized by a unique artist who works with numerous musicians and contemporary artists.
倉科昌高Masataka Kurashina
原本是自由插畫師，以彩繪自行車安全帽為契機，從1993年開始以客製彩繪畫家身分活動。從小型日常用品到建築物，所有立體物品都是他的畫板，始終以融合生物與自然為主題，創作個性化的彩繪作品。作品不僅止於汽車、摩托車，還廣泛跨足運動、建築、音樂、服飾、傳統工藝、現代藝術等各種領域，也經常和不同行業的創作者合作。亦積極參與策畫主題聯展和個展。
Following work as a freelance illustrator, it was a project to paint bicycle helmets in 1993 that launched his activity as a custom painter.
Using as his base all sorts of three-dimensional objects, from small daily necessities to buildings and other structures, he has produced painting works that regularly fuse animal and nature motifs with custom graphics. His works are not limited to cars and motorcycles, but cover a wide range of themes such as sports, architecture, music, fashion, traditional crafts, and contemporary art. He has produced many works in with collaboration with creators in various industries and is also actively involved in both group and solo exhibitions.

「MILK」
靈感源自於貓咪用舌頭舔舐牛奶的可愛模樣。為了重現這可愛畫面的象徵性元素，選用了牛奶的乳白色。仔細以陰影堆疊立體感，彩繪出牛奶滴落的造型。屋頂上頭的貓咪臉譜也相當惹人憐愛。 Inspired by the endearing image of a cat licking milk, this version reproduces milk’s creamy white color as a motif symbolizing the cuteness of that image. Careful, precise shading creates a three-dimensional effect, with a design that looks like milk dripping. The cat’s face on the top of the house is also adorable.
「FLAMES」
以可愛的線條畫出相連的火焰圖案。不將火焰設計得太過狂野，是為了讓女性們也容易接受。為了充分展現陶土素材的原色，選用最能襯托素材魅力的水藍色。搭配笑臉圖案，為瓦貓帶來滿滿的流行氣息。 This pattern expresses a set of flame icons in a cute way. Rather than eliciting wildness, it is designed to appeal to women as well. To bring out the base color, a light blue color was selected, maximizing the appeal of the background. This perfectly matches the smiley face and gives it a very pop look.
「LEOPARD」
最能展現客製彩繪魅力的設計。塗上白色底漆之後，用噴槍疊上一根一根1mm的細緻毛髮，畫出完全令人連想不到堅硬瓦片的毛皮質感。讓人很期待當貓咪看到這貓科同類的豹紋小屋時，會有什麼反應呢。 This is a fun design that maximizes the appeal of custom painting. After a base coat of white is applied, each individual hair is drawn with an airbrush to create layers of 1-mm hairs. The result exhibits the texture of a coat of fur that you can’t believe is hard. You can look forward to your cat’s response to this leopard, which is also a member of the cat family.
